The Verifiable Credentials Platform empowers organizations—such as universities, government agencies, and enterprises—to issue and verify digital credentials in a secure, privacy-first, and tamper-proof way using blockchain technology.

My mission was to design a user-friendly platform that supports all core participants: issuers, credential holders, and verifiers—while meeting strict standards for trust, accessibility, and interoperability.

As the Product Designer, I led the UX/UI design from ideation to delivery. My responsibilities included:

🔍 Conducting user research with government bodies, universities, and credential holders to understand pain points in the existing certificate issuance process.

✍️ Designing user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes for issuer dashboards, recipient wallets, and verifier portals.

🧩 Building a design system for scalable UI components and visual consistency.

🤝 Collaborating with blockchain developers, legal experts, and government IT teams.

💬 Regularly presenting progress and getting feedback from key stakeholders and decision-makers including the CTO and policy advisors.

Before diving into design, I focused on understanding the unique challenges and workflows of all stakeholders involved in digital credentialing.

Identify pain points in the existing credential issuance and verification processes

Understand legal, technical, and usability constraints in identity systems

Ensure designs accommodate users with varying levels of digital literacy

User Interviews: Conducted interviews with government bodies, universities, HR teams, and students

Persona Development: Defined key user roles—Issuer, Credential Holder, and Verifier

Task Analysis: Mapped flows for issuing, receiving, and verifying credentials

Benchmarking: Analyzed W3C standards and competitor platforms for interoperability alignment

Usability Testing: Validated early designs with both technical and non-technical users

Many users distrusted or didn’t understand blockchain—visual cues were essential for perceived trust

Credential holders (often students or citizens) needed extremely intuitive mobile-first experiences

Institutions needed auditability and revocation workflows, while verifiers required fast, reliable access

I designed credentials to feel immediately trustworthy—combining blockchain-backed signatures with clear visual markers like QR codes, issuer seals, and validity status indicators.

I mapped out end-to-end journeys for each role, focusing on simplicity and clarity:

Issuers could issue, revoke, and manage credentials from a clean dashboard

Holders accessed credentials via a mobile wallet with options to share or verify

Verifiers could instantly validate credentials by scanning a QR code or uploading a file

I built a modular, accessible design system to support both web and mobile views. Visual consistency was paired with accessibility standards (WCAG-compliant colors, keyboard nav, responsive layouts).

Blockchain developers to align on technical integration and metadata standards

Legal/policy advisors to address compliance and data privacy concerns

Stakeholders including CTOs and education/government advisors for feedback at every milestone

Clear metadata about issuer and validity

Simple interface for viewing, sharing, and revoking credentials

Scan or upload to verify credentials instantly

Visual cues for trust, such as source validation and signature checks

Reduced Fraud: Digitally signed and tamper-proof credentials made forgery nearly impossible

Operational Efficiency: Saved time and costs related to manual certificate handling

User Empowerment: Credential holders could finally own and control their verified identity

Cross-Sector Adoption: The platform was adopted by organizations in education, healthcare, and governance

Designing for verifiable credentials was about more than user experience—it was about building trust in a space where security, privacy, and accessibility all had to coexist.

This project challenged me to balance emerging tech like blockchain with real human needs, especially for users unfamiliar with the underlying systems. It taught me that great UX is not just functional—it's ethical, inclusive, and future-ready.

Understanding the complexity of the energy landscape and the diversity of user roles was key to designing a meaningful solution. I conducted end-to-end UX research to guide the entire design process.

These findings directly influenced the dashboard hierarchy, navigation patterns, and filtering tools that became core to the redesign.

I used research findings to craft targeted personas and define goals for the redesign. This kept the team aligned around real user needs like reducing energy waste, spotting issues early, and improving compliance.

🧱 Information Architecture & Wireframing

I restructured the dashboard to elevate essential KPIs—energy usage, cost savings, and emissions. I introduced a flexible layout system with collapsible panels and a persistent global filter, allowing both overview and detail-level interaction without overwhelming users.

I designed a modular UI kit using a neutral, data-focused color palette to support clarity and readability. Real-time visualizations like charts, alerts, and custom widgets allowed users to spot trends instantly. The interface was responsive and accessible across devices and roles.

I worked in tight collaboration with the development team to ensure design intent translated smoothly into implementation. I delivered a detailed Figma component library and specification guides, ran usability testing at key milestones, and iterated based on both internal reviews and user feedback.

This project deepened my expertise in designing for complex, data-heavy platforms. It was a reminder that good design isn’t just about clarity—it’s about creating tools that enable smarter, faster decisions. By embedding research into every stage of the process, I was able to simplify complexity in a way that felt both powerful and effortless for the end user.

It also reaffirmed the importance of adaptability: designing for users who range from highly technical analysts to high-level decision-makers requires systems that are both flexible and focused.

Designing an interface that blends 3D architectural visualization with intuitive user control posed a unique challenge. Users needed to visualize complex interior changes — like partition removal, bed repositioning, or wiring adjustments — while actively navigating through the space. The system had to balance realism with usability, accommodate both professionals and casual users, and maintain performance across devices while rendering high-detail environments in real time.

🎨 Information Architecture & Wireframing

SOREAL was a unique blend of spatial design, system thinking, and user empathy. It challenged me to design beyond the screen — to consider motion, space, and physical interaction. The most rewarding part was watching users physically “walk” through their dream homes with joy, surprise, and confidence. This project reminded me that the best design is one you can feel.

SOREAL lets you design, customize, and walk through your dream home in real-time, using just a tablet and a big screen.
